When a file is saved, this plug-in checks the corresponding data module, frame, or form for database controls with an Active property set to true, and displays a warning message in the status bar (or a message box with a list of active database components -- TDatabase, TDataSet, etc.).

This plug-in is useful is you're a database programmer and you want to insure that your database controls are not inadvertently active when compiled into your application.









FEATURES

This plug-in registers two new commands that can be assigned to a keystroke, custom toolbar button, or a menu item, or triggered from the CodeRush About box. The commands are described below:

DBAlerterAutoDeactivate
This command determines whether this plug-in will automatically deactivate database components on a save. You can pass one of three parameters to this command:
When you change the Automatic Deactivation state, a message appears in the edit window status bar indicating the current state:







DBAlerterSilent
Allows you to specify whether dialogs the Active DB Alerter will present message boxes or place a message on the status bar (silent) when it reports on the Active state of components that you're saving.

You can pass one of three parameters to this command:
When you change the Silent state, a message appears in the edit window status bar indicating the change:

The Active DB Alerter displays the number of active components when you save.
You can automatically deactivate Active database components when you save.
You can display warning messages or use the status bar -- the choice is yours.
